solved: After I called "make maint" all of gaf compiled fine :-) A quick test already discovered a new feature: The dialog on exit explicitely lists the unsaved files. I like this improved usability. The log window advises me to run gsymupdate or gschupdate on every symbol and every letter of the alphabet.
