Thanks, Ales, for opening up the floor to discussion. I was going to just let this go...... I do think that a dark background is better when doing work, and would prefer to keep the default dark background. It's easier on the eyes. The light background is better for screenshots, but that's not a good reason to change the default. I cast my vote for the old, dark background.
