Hi guys --

I'm gearing up to put out another gEDA Suite CD with all the latest
stuff on it. Of course, the GTK port of PCB is an eagerly-awaited
package which deserves top billing on the CD.

One issue, however: When I run the GTK version of PCB (gPCB?) it
spews lots of GTK warnings. These are usually associated with bad or
missing type casts. At least that's my understanding. . . . .

I spent about 45 minutes running gdb and looking for places where I
could contribute some patches to the code which might clean up the
warnings. However, they look deeply embedded & I didn't make any
progress in my efforts. That is, when I break at a warning, a
backtrace reveals that I am up to 50 or more function calls deep into
GTK stuff, and the original call from PCB seems clean.

Any thoughts on this issue? I'd be happy to keep looking, but it
doesn't look like an easy job. OTOH, I don't really want to release a
CD with a version of PCB which spews too many warnings, since it might
scare newbies. Pointers to places where you think the code could be
spruced up by putting in casts would be appreciated! Meanwhile, if I
manage to cut down on the number of warnings, I will be happy to post
patches.

Stuart
