Now I remember -- ISTR that you need to compile using gcc32 (or
something like that).  RedHat left the old compiler in there since
they realized that so many people would have problems compiling
programs.  You can edit the Makefile to use gcc32 by setting CC=gcc32
at the line calling out the compiler.

Meanwhile, the various program authors are busy working on these
typecast bugs, and I am slowly making progress getting a validation
environment set up with SuSE and FC4 in order to identify and
eliminate these gcc-4 issues.  Hang tight!
