Haven't tried this out yet but have some questions: - How close do you have to be to "grab" the object? - Is it dependent in any way on zoom or the grid spacing? - Once you have made the selection, is your "anchor" point highlighted in any way (for relative move operations for example)?
I'm not sure the new behaviour (if I understand it correctly) is more mainstream. Many tools use the concept of selecting the bounding box to grab an object. There are times when this is actually easier and/or more desirable (on a crowded schematic) than having to actually hit a component of the object you are trying to select. Just my $.02 worth.
