You can add the following lines to system-gschemrc (around line 1373) to make Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V work: ("Control C" . buffer-copy1) ("Control V" . buffer-paste1-hotkey) Similarly, you can do the same for "Control X/Y/Z" if you want.
