Maybe we should aim at core gnetlist API being available in libgeda? Or in libgnetlist? Then SWIG [1] could be used to provide bindings to multiple scripting languages with relatively low effort. Of course if we want to embed a scripting language (as we currently do) then we need to stick to one choice :)
