Just to note: unstable branch gnetlist gives more informative messages
here:
$ gnetlist -gFOOBAR gschem/examples/drawing_primitives.sch
ERROR: Could not find backend `FOOBAR' in load path.
Run `gnetlist --list-backends' for a full list of available backends.
