I create more schematics for generating SPICE netlists or for documentation 
purposes than for board design.

Additionally, gschem symbols are supposed to be 'light' -- that is, footprint 
& exact part number information are added by the designer while creating the 
schematic, they're not in the symbol.

Please no-one change this, it'll make my life really difficult. :(

P.S. I very rarely (never) use the gEDA symbol library; I have my own symbol 
library that fits my needs better.
