A2A, thanks.

There is no country called Palestine, never has been.  If you mean the
Palestinian Authority, a quick Google search indicates that the most the PA
ever received from Indonesia was $200,000 and a pledge for a $1 mil. (don't
know if the pledge was ever met).

Indonesia does keep up appearances of caring about the PA status in the
conflict with Israel, but mostly acts not so much "for PA" (not sure what that
would mean) as against Israel.  Indonesia does not recognize Israel and refuses
entry to Israeli passports.  Below the surface, however, that Indonesia has no
principal objections to Israel and avoids developing full-scale diplomatic
relations for fear of Islamic radicalism: Indonesia–Israel relations

The overall position of pressing for PA's sovereignty and UN membership (or
doing lip service to this effect), while not formally recognizing Israel, lets
Indonesia keep good relations with the rest of the Muslim world and, at the
same time, quietly and advantageously collaborate with Israel.

diplomatically yes, Indonesia does not recognize Israel (de jure), and has a
consulate in Ramallah.

In domestic politics: Indonesian politicians have always used palestinians as
sexy issue to garner support and sympathies from local muslims, and also
bashing Israel/jewish people whenever they could.

Indonesia has recently been delegated as the third party negotiator to bring
Israel and Palestine closer and return to peace talk.

This is because Indonesia is seen as a secular country with majority moslem
population (you can say the Turkey of southeast asia), and can have the best of
both sides.
