Sungguh tragis, tidak tahu kenapa dirinya ada di G20....Kalau Indonesia nggak
punya apa-apa diperut buminya, kalau tidak merupakan pasar besar karena jumlah
penduduknya yang keempat di dunia, kalau tidak punya posisi strategis dalam
percaturan politik global, pokoknya kalau tidak punya SDA dan SDM yang begitu
kaya, sampai bongkokpun Indonesia tidak akan dimasukkan dalam G20...

President asks ambassadors to stopseeking grants

Putro A)Jakarta(ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) called on
allIndonesian representatives overseas, including the ambassadors, tostop
seeking foreign grants during a work meeting here, Monday.
"AsIndonesia has been part of the G20 states, we have to stop feelinginferior.
We must stop seeking grants (from foreign countries),"the president stated in
his opening remarks during the work meetingof Indonesian ambassadors at the
Foreign Affairs Ministry inJakarta.
Indonesia now, Jokowi noted, must start helping othercountries.
During the meeting, which was attended by ForeignAffairs Minister Retno Marsudi
and Coordinating Political, Legal andSecurity Affairs Minister Wiranto,
thepresident emphasized that Indonesia was one of the great countries inthe
world.
Among the G20 members, Indonesia has rankedthird or fourth in terms of economic
growth.
"If we stillconsider ourselves inferior, we will never grow to be a great
nation.Hence, now in every summit and conference, I have asked our
foreignaffairs minister to always sit next to the leaders. Do not ever
takeseats in the corner," the president stressed.
When takingpictures, the president also asked the ambassadors to stand next
tothe leaders.
On a similar occasion, the president stated thatall Indonesian representatives
should make economic diplomacy theirtop priority.
"We have to be more serious aboutpenetrating non-traditional markets. Following
my visits to the SouthAsian countries, I understand that we have not yet
optimized othermarkets that have huge potential," he stated, referring
toPakistan and Bangladesh.
In the next exhibitions, thepresident has asked the diplomats to showcase a
large and attractiveIndonesia booth.
"Weshould not be overpowered by Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam andPhilippines,
mainly in terms of exports and investments. Istress one more time, Indonesia is
the only G20 country in SoutheastAsia," Jokowi noted.
Hence, the president called on hisministries and other offices to launch more
innovative moves to boostexports and investments.
