Doubt regarding CMP_directory_MESI protocol In L2 controller, what does the event L1_PUTX_old imply? According to the code, L1_PUTX_old is triggered when the requester is not present in the sharers list. This can happen if the L1_PUTX reaches L2 controller before L1_ExclusiveUnblock. How are we guaranteed that the L1 cache has not modified the block and hence it should be L1_PUTX_old and not just PUTX?
