Hi Shirshendu,

The gem5 mailing list is not the place to ask questions about Simics
segfaults...

Why don't you try gem5 instead? :)

Kind regards,

Andreas

Subject: [gem5-users] Ruby Segmentation fault (SIGSEGV) in main thread

Hi,

I am using GEMS. I have modified L2 controller of MESI-CMP protocol
(MESI_CMP_directory-L2cache.sm) and also the "ruby/System/CacheMemory.h" to
meet my requirements. It compiles correctly but after loading and initiating
ruby it shows segmentation fault. I attached the error below:

simics> ruby0.init
......
simics> ruby0.tracer-output-file /home/....../tracer/water/watertrace.caches.gz
Request trace enabled to output file
'/home/..../tracer/water/watertrace.caches.gz'
simics> c
Segmentation fault (SIGSEGV) in main thread
The simulation state has been corrupted. Simulation cannot continue.
Please restart Simics.
[cpu0] v:0x0000000001055484 p:0x01802c55484 ldsh [%o1 + 34], %o3
Setting new inspection cpu: cpu0

I don't know where the problem is. Kindly help me how can I fix this problem.
