Hello Giacomo,
 I check my gem5 and  I am sure I am compiling the gem5 with debug mode. And I 
run the gem5 simulation with gem5.debug. So it may not be because of the wrong 
choice of the gem5 execution mode. 
The outputs when i use gdb to run gem5.debug are as below:
