Hi
I am dealing with simpoint and checkpoint values. I have setup simpoint with
the benchmarks. Also using the checkpoint on the command line as shown;

command line:

 /home/ashutoshj/newm5/build/ALPHA_SE/m5.opt -d
./spcp2000/cmp02_thds02_L2cache01/2C2T/Esimoutput100M
/home/ashutoshj/newm5/configs/cpu2000/cmp02_thds02_L2cache01.py --detailed
--caches --l2cache -*S --take-checkpoint=100000000*

I have been using the max_insts_all_thread = 100000000 (100M) under the
configuration file for running the benchmarks.

*My query* is how this *checkpoint is computed in M5*? Whether the max
instruction all threads means "sum of simpoint value + checkpoint" or just
the " checkpoint value".

One more thing do the checkpoint and simpoint value have any relation with
statement like the following appeared at the end of simulation
       "Exiting @ cycle 62465151500 because all threads reached the max
instruction count"

Thanks in advance
