. I think there are some issues with how legacy code handled cetain types of instructions, leading to these funny counts. Definitely things that should be commented better in the future. I sent out a patch way back I think to try to consolidate the instruction counts, but I put it on the backburner when I had to try to figure out a way to use it to pass all the regressions and since then it's just been sitting in my queue ...
