Hi all,

I finally have the SPEC 2000 benchmarks. In SE mode (alpha isa) all common benchmarks are running. But I think the performance numbers are some how very unusual. For example for gzip using ref/input/input.log as input file the statistics of M5 are reporting a total number of 65353610986 cycles and 13520937729 idle cycles. This is 20 percent. I did not make any significant changes to M5, so I wonder why this number is that huge. The ipc is 0.65. Has anyone experience with the CPU2000 benchmarks and can point out if my numbers are "normal" or complete nonsense.

My next question is concerning the FS mode (alpha isa). When I start the gzip benchmark there, I always get a segmentation fault. It doesn't matter if I start the benchmark by attaching "-b gzip" to the fs-script options or by starting it manually in the m5term shell. Any ideas what is the reason for this and how I can solve that problem?

Thanks in advance
    Fabian Oboril
