The files in the splash2 directory are for running some very old and
obsolete versions of Splash compiled for Tru64 with hacked-up
synchronization under SE mode.  If you want to run under FS (which is
what you should be doing), you'll have to recompile the benchmarks for
Alpha Linux with pthreads.
