Hey Ali,
I've tried to boot as single processor, but the same problem happens.
You mean the command line to launch M5?
I re-compiled the tsb_osfpal, console and kernel.
I should say that using the tsb_osfpal and console from M5 repository, but
with, the kernel I've compiled, M5 works Ok for memory sizes up to 2GB. In
this case, if I keep the memory size as 2GB and only use the
new console I've compiled, memory size is wrong and the simulation breaks.
I've changed the makefile in console directory because it's required to
change M5 variable (I suppose it's the directory).
Thanks,
Mario

It's version 2.6.27.6, which I've also compiled by myself.
You suggesting me to try another one?
Thanks,

Yes, Ali you were right, I was using tsb_osfpal and not tl_osfpal.
With the a console and a tsb_osfpal version compiled by myself, using 2500MB as
the memory size (in Benchmarks.py), the simulation breaks here:

Which M5 trace/code you suggest me to look at?

You should have a new tsb_osfpal and console. tl_osfpal is for a Alpha platform
m5 no longer supports. How does it break?

Hey Ali, thanks for your reply!
I've re-compiled and generate a new console binary, however the
simulation breaks earlier than before (at least before, I was able to
use it perfectly under 2GB). Maybe I'm missing something: should I
also have tl_osfpal recompiled ? Are there any other binaries or
modifications required to use more than 2GB?
Thanks,
Mario

If you compile the console binary yourself from the alpha-system repository you
shouldn't have that problem anymore.

Hi,
I was wondering what is the maximum memory size I can use in
Benchmarks.py. For example, when using up to 2GB everything works fine, however
if I use 3GB, m5 simulation aborts and I get a couple messages in the terminal
file:
memsize FFFFFFFFC0000000 pages FFFFFFFFFFFE0000
setup: forcing memory size to 33554432K
Can anybody give any hints on how to increase the maximum memory size?
Thanks,
Mario
