Dear Wikimedia Gender Gap Community, Wikimania 2025 is fast approaching! Join us in Nairobi, Kenya, from August 6-9 (with a pre-conference on August 5), as we celebrate 20 years of Wikimania with the theme: "Wikimania@20: Inclusivity. Impact. Sustainability."
We need your voices to make a difference. This is a fantastic opportunity to address gender equity in Wikimedia projects and beyond. The Call for Program Proposals is ongoing and we strongly encourage you to submit proposals relevant to our theme on or before the 31 March 2025 deadline. Proposals can be presented in various formats: ● Remote presentations from the comfort of your home or workplace. ● Pre-recorded sessions to share at the conference. ● Onsite presentations in Nairobi, Kenya. To help spark ideas, here are a few topics that may align with the conference theme: ● Increasing Participation: Creative approaches to involve women and other gender in Wikimedia projects. ● Success Stories: Case studies of impactful gender equity initiatives. ● Tools & Strategies: Innovative methods to reduce the gender gap in Wikimedia projects like Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons. ● Discussion or Workshops: Sessions or interactive discussions aimed at fostering inclusivity.
