I am setting up a gateway/firewall for my home net using LRP 2.9.4. I am using a pentium 133 with a zoom 56k external modem. It will be dialing my ISP (AT&T) when needed. I have set-up two different downloads, so it must be something I am doing or need to do??? If anyone has an idea let me know. Now for some setup/config info. If I ping an outside address it will dial the modem and connect, but then hangs up. Some of my ppp.log * ---username and password exchanged--- * Serial connection established * Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttys1 * sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x2 <magic ###> <pccomp><accomp>] * rcvd[LCP ConfAck id=0x2 <magic same ###>] * rcvd[LCP ConfReq id=0x22 <asyncmap 0x0><pccomp><accomp><auth chap 05><magic ###>] * sent[LCP ConfRej id=0x22 <auth chap 05>] * rcvd[LCP TermReq id=0x23] * sent[LCP TermAck id=0x23] * sent[LCP ConfReq id=0x2 <magic ###><pccomp><accomp>] * Hangup (SIGHUP) * Modem Hangup * Connection Terminated It seems to "pass" the first authentication but rejects the request from AT&T????? ome of my /etc/ppp/options file * connect '/usr/sbin/chat -v -f /etc/ppp/chatscript -r /tmp/connect.log' * demand * persist * 12.34.56.78:12.34.56.79 * ipcp-accept-local * ipcp-accept-remote * modem * crtscts * defaultroute * lock * noauth Not sure what the "ipcp" is. my chap-secrets file info username * password I have tried many different settings to help, but this is as close as I can get.
