I have no problem with people discussing business opportunities on the list. In fact, to clarify matters, I have altered our Mission Statement on the main page of the website to:
The Baton Rouge Linux User Group's (BRLUG) mission is to advocate the use of Linux both in the home and the enterprise, to support the existing base of Linux users in the city of Baton Rouge, and to have a great time. In addition, we encourage our members to use the LUG as a platform for forming both non-profit and for-profit organizations to better establish Linux within the community. As such, we welcome both business and hobbyists discussions at our meetings and on our mailing list. In addition, the mailing list page now includes: List Charter: The purpose of the BRLUGLIST is to offer a way for local Linux users to communicate about the use, configuration, optimization, and internal workings of Linux as well as to offer a place to foster contacts and business opportunities for members of the Baton Rouge Linux User Group.
