The "free" version (for linux only) is availiable as 'QPL' (their version of
GPL). You can generate 'free' products with it.. for commercial work use
the Win32/Mac/X11 commercial buy products.

The one thing that has gotten my attention is that qt code is supposed to be
trans-platform (provided it compiled with the targ's qt libs). Too bad,
there isn't a nice trans-plat abstraction layer for things like data
access..etc...

I've also looked at some samples and I find them fairly easy to understand;
I think I might be fairly productive given enough time to get used to them.
I like the signal/slots thing used to 'connect' objects and events. And Qt
does seem to have less programming overhead' ( than c/c++ app frameworks
I've had the displeasure of knowing , namely mfc and borland.objectwindows )

Anyway, these are my first glances at the product. It took over 4 hours to
configure/ compile/ and install on my pIII-450. I haven't had much time to
play with it yet. I might have to invest in a book.

Later
