Regarding my statement that the above is "my opinion," I want to make something very clear. The Baton Rouge Linux User Group is a loose collection of individuals that support the common goal of learning more about Linux, UNIX, and Open Source. While the LUG does maintain leaders, insofar as I, John, and others appear to be, the group is more of a grassroots based democracy. Unless there is a general consensus that some action should not be done as a LUG activity then by default you are free to do as you will. In other words, unless most of us believe something is a bad idea then you are free to represent BRLUG in doing the activity. All that I do ask however is that you post possible actions to this list before doing them. So, when I publicly state opposition to something (which I'm not really doing in this case, but this thread is a good place to say this) that in no way means it can not or should not be done. I think it's important that this be noted as I am the coordinator, and some, especially newbies, may consider my opinions with more weight than is appropriate.
