Sounds like you've got a piece of plug-n-play hardware that Linux and
Windows aren't agreeing about. Without knowing more, I don't know what a
fix would be, but you might troubleshoot by disabling some things, like
sound/network and seeing if the problem goes away. Then you can go about
making that piece of hardware work with both configurations.
