I personally use XawTV for the capture in AVI format then I use mjpegtools. With mjpegtools comes glav which I use for editing what I have captured with XawTV. Glav is GUI, but all of my other tools work from the CLI. From what I understand, Cinerella (sp) is very nice. I have not yet tried it. All in all, I have been successful in taking video footage from my camcorder, converting it to mpeg, and burning it to a disc for my family in Florida. -K -- "It's not just what you don't know. Just download and install Cygwin (http://www.cygwin.com) and be sure to select "cygrunsrv" when you run the setup.exe. Lemme know if you need help with that. BTW: Cool beans to you for running free|open source software on Windoze. I'd like to see more people doing so. Is there anybody running or wanting to run free software on M$ Windoze on this mailing list? I say attack M$ on all fronts (OpenOffice is da bomb!). John Hebert -----Original Message----- From: Jeremy J Bertrand To: BRLUG-general Sent: 11/6/03 8:52 PM Subject: [brlug-general] question about autostarting mysql daemon on winxp question ... on my pc (winxp partion, of dual boot) I installed mysql and php. I'm using a slim http server called Xitami. I was looking through everything I could find, but for some reason mysqld-nt doesn't show up under the services ... and i have to manually start the mysql server when i want to use database functions. did i make a mistake in the install of mysql and that it didn't fully install, change startup settings to allow mysql to automatically load on system startup.
