Probably not. Gentoo gives you tools to build your system, while LFS requires
you to do everything by hand. Yes, I know there are scripts to automate an
LFS installation, but after things are installed, you're on your own again
for upgrades, AFAIK.

Aslo, there are no ports-like userland applications repositories, unless there
happens to be something in Beyond Linux From Scratch.

Problem I have with LFS is it requires you have a full working system to
begin with .. with gentoo you still get an LFS feel while getting just
the basic tools to start a system similiar to LFS. What most do not
realize is you could install portage on top of LFS, but I have always
said if you do that you should just run gentoo to begin with :) .
