Thanks. I would not thrust this at the average user, but I like the direction free software has taken me with portable computing and quiet hardware. I do most of my actual work on a 196MB, 233MHz laptop, which is something that can be used by anyone. Between multiple desktops, good stability and power management, it's a quiet, trouble free, always on computer. The project computer was too slow for most people but most hardware is not when you use the right software.
The neat thing is that the most useful software still works in a slimed down environment. You don't need to run the full Gnome or KDE window managers to get the most important work done.
