Ed has been doing a good job and the timing is right. Ed's click by click
lectures are practical and easy. His promotion with multimedia at the
monthly meetings and open house also help. The user can see they will miss
nothing but have better performance using free software. Another big help is
Vista and the terrible reviews it's getting. Thanks to Ed's hard work,
people at CCCC know they have a place to run and how to get there.

Check out what other CCCC users have to say:

"Think I will plan on getting a new
box before Vista takes over. ? With Vista it may not be
possible to play high definition video and audio material."

and

"I'm glad this sort of thing is being made known to the general
public. This is one of the major reasons why I've stated I will never
run Vista. Fortunately, the current version of Sage TV supports HD!"

The horror stories are rolling in from those who try it. Sitting with the ACM
people today, I heard a student talk about trying to install Vista. His
conclusion was that nothing worked.

If you care about free software, this is the time to show it off. Vista does
not work well, the new lock out formats are not established and the old ones
have been mastered. Free software is now the path of least resistance for
people who just want their computers to work.
