We run Microsoft Office here at Puryear IT, and it's actually an official standard. In the past, some employees have used OO, but it didn't work out too well. Too many issues with odd formatting, etc. Now, this may have improved in the last year..
We made the decision based on business needs. We need our documents to be easily usable by us and by our clients. I gave up on MS Office years ago on Windows and totally once they ported it to native OS X instead of through X.
