I finally rooted my nook color. I haven't really used it extensively, but if you have any questions in particular, i can try to answer them for you (or find out first hand).
some apps don't work right. youtube is not working for me (known issue with the rooting process, i just haven't cared to fix it). If an app runs, I don't see anything running noticeably slow. I really just use it to read. I think the battery life is good enough as long as you keep wifi off. I am also able to keep the brightness all the way down, so I am sure that helps. The one complaint witht he NC is the lack of buttons.
