Sounds like my problem, especially if it sounded like a 17 year old kid,
and it was around 2000-2001. I couldn't afford the modem, but I was
generously given one gratis from someone else on the list (I am just going
to point at Edmund, but I am not saying anything).

I am doing quite well in the *nix world, definitely much thanks to all the
people on this list that were patient with me so many years ago.
