I'm a Debian-based guy by training and experience, using Debian on the server (moving to Ubuntu Server) and Mint on the desktop. OpenBSD is my choice for anything holding highly sensitive and able to run on basic hardware and a bare-bones feature set. I've also used the FreeBSD-based IPFire firewall distribution with good results. I wanted to also let the list know that I'm aware of a job opportunity with a software firm in New Orleans. They're looking for a DevOps engineer who brings RHCE-level Linux expertise (RHEL shop, I *think* version 6, which is pre-systemd) with real-world Docker and OpenShift experience. Ideally this person would be or would be able to become their in-house OpenShift guru. Full-time, permanent, pays well, but no remote work I'm aware of, so the worker will have to be on-prem.
