I don't think that this admin function is a so-called atomic function,
so I would expect only one database.xml update per host, even for
multiple attach-forest calls, as long as there are done in the same
request/transaction.

But even if it is atomic, then it *should* be atomic across the cluster.

On the other hand, I am not a Mark Logic expert, so perhaps someone from
Mark Logic cares to comment? Otherwise, send a message to
[email protected].

By the way, the MarkLogic Server Admin site runs on plain Xquery as
well. So you should be able to achieve exactly the same by calling those
admin functions directly.
