Aswani,

I'm afraid you have to be much more specific about what you are doing in order
for us to answer your questions.

Are you using the database restore in the Admin Interface?

Are you just restoring a single database or multiple databases?

It is possible you selected the Security database as well as your content
database, and if it was restored, then you would need the user/pass from the
database you backed up (because you just restored it).

But that is just a guess. Declan's guess of a filesystem network drive is a
good one two, but that would not cause MarkLogic to prompt you (but might cause
the OS to prompt you, or just fail).

You should set your logging level to debug and look at your ErrorLog.txt
file-it will tell some of the story of what is going on.

Subject: Re: [MarkLogic Dev General] Problem on restoring MarkLogic 3.2
database into MarkLogic 4.2

Hi Aswini,

This looks more like a problem with the permissions for reading/writing the
file from the file system. Are you trying to load the back-up file from a
network drive?

Thanks,

Dec

Hi All,

I am looking for a help in Marklogic Server backup restoration.
While we are going to restore the database content in the marklogic server, we
are getting popup which asking userid and password . We have provided the user
id and password whose having 'admin' role but it does not allow to login that
is a reason we have failed to restore the database content . Could you please
let me know what type of credential is asking here? Or can we bypass this
authentication during backup restore? For your reference we have attached the
screen short.

Note: We have been trying to restore database (which is created in MarkLogic
3.2 ) into MarkLogic 4.2.

 Thanks in Advance
Aswini
