Hi Ryan, Instead of PGP/GPG you could also look into XML Digital Signature (http://www.w3.org/Signature/), provided you are signing xml content. I am not aware of XQuery implementations, but there is good support in Java.
Note: if you are concerned with internal security (like an sysadmin or hacker mocking about), you might consider storing signing keys outside your MarkLogic database anyway. Anyone have any suggestions about including digital signing or hashing of content created within a MarkLogic application? I realize that I could use a browser plugin or something to create the value if an end user was involved, but I am really looking more towards the MarkLogic app automatically signing it and hashing it to guarantee authenticity and integrity. Maybe a call out to a (secure) web service? Any ideas appreciated, -Ryan
