Hmm, someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but if you disable replication, you
should then be able to then reindex the erstwhile replica cluster, then
re-enable replication. I just don't think you can reindex it while it's acting
as replica cluster. I defer to Wayne of course on this if I'm wrong...

Subject: Re: [MarkLogic Dev General] Re-index a replica database

Our setup consists of a master cluster and 2 slave clusters. We got replacement
hardware for the slaves, and configured them for db replication, so had 4
slaves temporarily. We then realised that the timezone on the new slaves was
wrong, so updated it and restarted MarkLogic, but the indexes had already been
created with the wrong timezone causing incorrect results from date range
queries.

I was after a way to reindex just the new slaves rather than having to reindex
the master cluster which I think (?) would have caused a complete replication
to all 4 slaves. In the end I deleted the replication config on the new slaves,
cleared the db, then added the replication config back.

Also as it's possible to have different index config on master and slaves, I
thought reindexing a slave would be possible (the admin interface doesn't help
here btw - you can still click reindex but nothing happens).

Cheers
Rob

No, there is no way to reindex a replica database.

Hi,

Is it possible to force re-index a replica database? Ideally I'd like to do it
without re-indexing the master db and having it replicate all the content over.

Thanks
