Here is a list of places I see “J Programming” (which is how I configure the
display name of [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> in
my mail clients) instead of “Pascal Jasmin” or any variation on his proper name:

- Mail on iOS (i.e. my phone)
- Mail on Mac
- Popcorn on Windows

And Mike is seeing it in Thunderbird, of course.

Note that when Pascal is posting to the Beta forum, for example, his name is
displayed as “J Beta” for me (because that’s how I’ve configured the display
name of [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>).

Note also that I set this mailbox up a very long time ago, and it’s POP3, not
IMAP.

Anyway, at first it was a bit confusing, but now I’m used to it, and it doesn’t
bug me enough to put effort into fixing on my end. I just know if I see a mail
literally from “J Programming” (etc), that means it’s from Pascal.

If that alias started applying to other people and created real ambiguity, I’d
be move motivated to fix it.
