See my overlapping mail. I don’t think anyone is questioning your recommendation. Just that an explicit statement to the community is necessary. In my experience this sometimes makes things happen - when it does it usually starts with "really? I didn't realize it was that bad. How can I help"
To be fair this often comes to nothing, but it's a courtesy to the community. Remember not everyone reads general@ and those that do often get drowned in the noise.
