What happens to people whose systems don't support png format?

The site version is in gif.
In the logos subdir there is the original svg version and a png version.

The png in the logos dir is transparent, but since it has alpha blending, it sucks when converted as a gif.

It's better off if green sites (who is it btw?) just take the png and make their version.

Also, as you have seen, sometimes one needs to change other things too, like the logo text color for the Maven version (which I find really cool BTW).

Here is how to make yours (there are trillion better ways than these, as always)

first way:

- get a graphics program like the Gimp
- load the jakarta-logo.png file
- copy
- set all the image to the color you want
- paste
- save as gif

second way:

- ask me by telling me the background svg values needed, I'd be happy to do it
