A minor error in that story: The SHARP APL mainframe system never ran on anything except IBM S/360 machines and their descendants. I never heard of any SHARP APL ports to DEC hardware, but it is possible that somebody ported SAX to a DEC system. Nonetheless, the Reuters Toronto APL system never ran on DEC hardware.
