In to avoid complicating start-up scripts, it would make
sense to have a separate tool called "Diagnose", which
will test for and report possible issues that occur frequently
and verify the consistency of installation and configuration
as well as required system environment.

This could include:
 - required C libraries
 - Java configuration
 - OpenGL configuration
 - etc.
