One great benefit of a J nto JS transcription over server(s) is the
hoping into the sandbox, use j anywhere/when. Its presence would be
ubiquitous.

Yes indeed!

I have the beta, and have played with it a bit on my MacBook. I'm not
sure I will ever be able to enter J expressions from my iPhone
keyboard, even if I could remember more than 5% of the primitives. But
it might be fun to try.

I did have J installed on an old Dell windows mobile device, but never
did write that killer app...

I believe the rules are a bit subtle in this case, but one important
distinction with javascript was that when the user writes their own
javascript it does not get stored locally on the apple device.

That said, it's been a number of months since I last cared about this issue.

But JavaScript an Java are unrelated, except by name.
Not that I would expect a JavaScript implementation of the J engine to
provide acceptable performance. But a JavaScript interface to a J web
server??

Yes, hence Eric's note on JHS as a potentially comprehensive solution.

One exception to this restriction, of course, is JavaScript.

Is J supported on mobile platforms, specifically iPhone/iPad/iPod
touch and Android, or if not, is such support forseen in the near
future?
