Ps. I'm curious, do you have a guess as to what the percentage of

I don't have a clue, but I hear this kind of crap all the time.

I think I am more fortunate, but sometimes I am not so sure. I got rid of the television in the house almost ten years ago. I sometimes listen to NPR when I an in the car and not on two meters. I read the front pages of the Wall Street Journal, (I hope to go back to working with people who read that newspaper when I graduate.), I listen to BBC World and some CBC and German news outlets. I think of myself as pretty well informed. Not so.

I just took a ethics class, "Contemporary Moral Problems" and, while I knew most of the facts about what was going on in the world, the spin that most of the class accepted went from the alarming to the insane. It was sad what they did not know, and the context for what they did know was highly suspect.

I shouldn't blame the media, but it is hard not to. After three weeks with the class for several hours every morning every day, I am ready to get back to news I think is truly important. Like, what is Apple doing?!? What retard is going to buy a new Power box when Apple boxen tend to stay in use for many years? Will SCO ever produce evidence? Can I ever get my gentoo box upgraded? Important stuff!
