I just finished putting up the experimental/development Kubuntu Dapper
release (KDE 3.5 and other modern inventions). After correcting the
well known bug that prevented eth0 from activating, I did the usual:
updated everthing, installed firefox, etc.). Nothing exciting, for my
minimal needs, everything just works.
I decided to open konqueror just to check it out, and, of course, on a
new system I don't have any of my usual bookmarks, so I keyed what I
thought to be the url for ubuntu www.ubuntu.org. A great shudder came
over me (coyote walking on my grave): I was now connected to an
international lefty organization touting one world government !!!
After browsing through some of the crap, I went to google to look for
Ubuntu linux. My feeble brain had forgotten that this is
www.ubuntulinux.org.
Ah, safely home again, or am I. It worries me that a great product
like Ubuntu has a close (hopefully unintended?) word association with
a group of rabble rousers. Hmmm, maybe if's associations like this one
that led that great bastion of truth, 60 Minutes, to list Linux as a
commie inspired invader?

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code ... If you write
the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not
smart enough to debug it.
