Hi foss people of Malaysia,

I have a question that has nothing to do with foss. But you all are a
good group of people who know about things such as spectrum analyzers
in KL. So here's my question:
- I have a small PC board running Linux (of course) and Embedded XP
(oh dear). Although this board has passed CE/FCC (and Sirim
presumably?) this board has been accused of generating spikes in the
800MHz to 1GHz RF spectrum.
- Apparently, that's an act that's illegal and maybe even punnishable
by prison so should try to fix it. :-)
- Apparently, the method to solve this is to take the board and test
it with a RF spectrum analyzer to find out when/if it is generating
these spikes and then ask it politely to stop doing so.
- So, now, looking at prices for spectrum analyzers, I see agilent
have them at a special price (just for you) RM100,000-400,000. I
searched in my trouser pocket and couldn't find this money.
Apparently, to debug properly, also need something like a partial
anechoic chamber.
- So, maybe one of you kind people has a spectrum analyzer or knows
some kind people who might have a spectrum analyzer for that
800MHz-1GHz range and are located in KL/PJ area and would be willing
to entertain a visit from me for few hours. I have not used a spectrum
analyzer myself before so might need some quick demo.
- I'm happy to sponsor lunch for such help. :-)

Thanks,
jayakumar
