running with git head, I get an error on the per-SL Xmit/Rcv counters, I think 
it was introduced by one of the commits to the "new" API (e.g

BTW - I noted that a bunch of commits from Ira carry the date they were sent 
and not when there were applied... anyway, below is the error, and I will be
