Re-sending to general list (bugzilla is impossible to use right now):
In OFED 1.4.1rc3, I see the following in /etc/init.d/openibd:
tail -50 /var/log/messages >> $DEBUG_INFO
That is not a valid assumption; syslogging may be entirely remote.
For example, I get "tail: cannot open `/var/log/messages' for reading:
No such file or directory" when I run openibd (it failed for another
reason).
