Gang, I have install Gitosis at OPS4J, and we could be running some experiments with Git if we want to.
My issue with Git is that the flexibility is so huge that it is difficult to define a workflow that makes sense. With this mail, I would like to invite the Git proponents to suggest how OPS4J could embrace Distributed SCM and still not spiral into complete chaos. Some of the requirements that I have are; * Single Source of an Authoritative Branch (Trunk). * Continuous Integration executed on Trunk. * Multiple Users write access to trunk (Gitosis fulfills this). * Release Management via Maven's release plugin. * Emails to notify@ where the actual person doing the change is listed as author. So, shoot away...
