Ok,

regarding the JAXB stuff, in ServiceMix/Karaf there is a
jre.properties file in the etc folder
this one might do some special handling for JAXB which might be
different then what you
or pax exam does :-)

besides that, how do you use the CXF? Do you use it with an "embedded"
jetty server.
Somehow this strange behaviour almost looks like you got 2 instances
of Jetty running,
the one used and provided by Pax web for your Webapplications and the
other one might be
started with CXF.
